DEMOLA: Connect, Innovate, Scale

Global mindset, local impact. The DEMOLA platform brings a proven Finnish model of team collaboration to the Czech Republic, connecting students, companies, and the challenges of the future. This creates a space where international student teams, with the support of experienced mentors, dive into real business problems — and transform them into solutions with real impact. With Point One CZU, you can now be part of it! We have become a new partner of this successful international initiative.

The main mission of the DEMOLA platform is to connect university students with companies and public organizations to jointly explore real challenges and deliver innovative solutions. Its foundation lies in building international student teams across disciplines and universities, and in supporting talented students who can later apply their gained experience when building their own projects and startups, or in their careers.

“Students participating in Demola most appreciate the great freedom combined with ongoing guidance and the possibility to turn to a team of facilitators at any time. Many of them experience for the first time an environment that does not try to raise everyone to an average level, but actively supports the best. In Demola, students’ hard work, passion, and quality of outputs are rewarded by the opportunity to discuss their topics with real experts in the field,” explains Petra Jirásková, who organizes Demola projects in the Czech Republic.

This extracurricular activity enables students to:

  • take part in demo projects,
  • gain new knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship,
  • acquire teamwork experience and valuable items for their CV,
  • improve their communication skills.

“We are very glad to become a new partner of this great initiative, which brings a new concept of supporting entrepreneurship to Point One CZU and to the university. It gives curious students the opportunity to gain valuable experience by working on real challenges from both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. We believe that students can further use their newly acquired skills, for example, when building their own businesses — something we are happy to support at Point One,” says Tereza Sobotková, manager of the Point One CZU incubator.

And what do the participating students think about Demola?

Where did Demola come from?

Demola, whose name combines the words Demonstration Laboratory, is an international platform that originated in Tampere, Finland, in 2008. Thanks to its successful collaboration model, it has gradually expanded to more than 18 countries across continents. In 2011, Demola Global Ltd was established to support its expansion and has since partnered with more than 50 universities. So far, over 750,000 students have participated in Demola programs. The concept was introduced and further developed in the Czech Republic by Innolive Consulting in 2024, led by Pavel Csańk and facilitator Petra Jirásková.
